Receiving Abundance Wholeheartedly

Something mind-blowing happened today! My adorable wife, Hitomi, and I were walking through the woods when, from a distance, a Chinese gentleman ran up to me with handfuls of Japanese Yen, fanned out like beautiful Asian fans. It appeared that he had more than two arms, by the number of yen he managed to hold. He was winded from running, and we were stunned by the sight before us.

He said, “I am moved by your level of Japanese language ability.”

All I could say was, “I like to communicate deeply with people, especially my wife, that’s why I learned the language. It’s not really a big deal.”

Then he said, “For your dedication, I want to give you this,” and handed us the Yen, elegantly fanned out in his hands. “It’s ¥3,000,000, and I want you to receive it.”

Incredibly, I received it without hesitation, without saying, “No, that’s too much.” I humbly and graciously accepted. Hitomi was amazed at how easily I received it.
The gentleman bowed to us, we bowed in return, and then he was gone.

And then I woke up.

At The Ultimate Experience in Scottsdale, Arizona, hosted by Judy Thureson & Erik Thureson, from the very first speaker—my ‘Homie of the Heart’ Stephen McGhee—the word RECEIVE kept appearing. It surfaced in conversations, in speeches, and at least seven times throughout the event.

Months before that, my mom Barbara Kenyon helped us in many ways, especially as a sponsor for Hitomi’s Green Card.
My Sister P in Kauai had taught me how to receive abundance through her care, wisdom, and sharing her home with Hitomi & me. Steven Farish moved from Georgia to Oahu, prepared a place for me overlooking Waikiki and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, and shared unexpected gifts daily during my first month in Honolulu. Gary Mahler and his family showed me the joy of receiving love and luxurious abundance. And my buddy Ken in Honolulu took me to lunch at the Elks Club, reminding me:

“Bodhi, people want to give you things. Learn how to receive them. It makes everyone happy.”

And of course, my cute little lady, Hitomi, is always loving and supportive and never holds back on what she wants to say, even when it challenges both of us. She has been my coach for years, teaching me to step up my ‘receiving capacity’. I gratefully receive her love, support and honesty daily.

That dream of the gentlemen giving me money was a reminder of how important it is to RECEIVE in the moment—without hesitation. And while I’m not sure why it was exactly ¥3,000,000, the way it was presented was sudden and spectacular.

If someone randomly handed you a large sum of money for no apparent reason, would you be able to RECEIVE it?

Or if someone acknowledged something about you that you may overlook—the brilliance of who you are—would you be able to pause, take a deep breath, and RECEIVE it fully?

I look forward to RECEIVING your love in the comments!

Your day is continuously filled with abundance in all its forms. Please allow yourself to RECEIVE all of it wholeheartedly.

Bodhi
