Leadership Begins by Saying Yes

Over the past year, Gaby Puma has become a profound presence in my life. This is the story of how we met, the bond we’ve formed, and the life-shifting experience she created in Peru: La Experiencia Suprema.

How We Met: A Connection Sparked by Presence

In November 2023, I wrote an article titled Creating Miracles in Your Daily Life: Be Still and Know… and posted it on Facebook. Gaby reached out to me directly. What followed were several powerful conversations that planted seeds of mutual respect and shared mission.

Fast forward to January 2025, I traveled to The Ultimate Experience in Scottsdale, Arizona. Gaby didn’t know I’d be there. When her eyes met mine, she immediately said, “Oh, Bodhi, how are you? How is Hitomi?” I was blown away that she remembered not only my name, but my wife’s as well!!

At that event, Gaby shared with me about La Experiencia Suprema, which she would be hosting in April in Cusco, Peru. I don’t recall her inviting me directly, but the idea of attending seemed impossible at the time. Then something unexpected happened.

At a group dinner with Gary Mahler, Spencer Lee, Dusty Dallas, Jim Becker, Damian Costa, and others, Jim turned to me and said, “Bodhi, I got your ticket to La Experiencia Suprema. It’ll be fun. We’ll go hiking, too.” His generosity moved me deeply—and that spark eventually grew into a flame.

Returning to Honolulu and Reconnecting

Back in Hawaii with my wife Hitomi (who was in Japan awaiting her green card interview), I was immersed in Zoom calls with the incredible Ultimate Coach/Ultimate Experience community that I met in Scottsdale—sometimes for over 7 hours a day. In that whirlwind, Gaby and I reconnected again.

Gaby translated The Book of Being: The Ultimate Coach into Spanish—El Coach Supremo—and is actively sharing its message with the Spanish-speaking world. I, too, have taken leadership in translating the book into Japanese. Recognizing a kindred spirit, Gaby reached out—not once, but week after week—to support me. She helps me see possibilities I haven’t yet seen and reminds me what it means to live as service.

She is a True Servant Leader. She claims powerful leadership, says “Yes, I’ll do it!” and creates miracles left and right. I’ve experienced this with her many times, and every time, it’s clear—her support isn’t an obligation. It’s who she is.

Why I Call Her “5D Gaby”

There is something otherworldly about being with her. She activates something beyond both of us—what we call Unlimitedness. On one Zoom call, we spoke for 5 hours and 50 minutes nonstop. She was unfazed. I was reeling. And deeply inspired.

Gaby helped me see that leadership begins with choosing. Simply choosing. And then showing up. She invited both Hitomi and me to Peru—and though my mind panicked with logistical and financial concerns, Gaby reminded me of the power of commitment and asking for support.

She even asked me to speak on stage at the event. That invitation flipped my internal switch. I said yes.

How She Helped Us Get There

Through her encouragement, I asked others for help—and they said yes. Gaby not only helped us organize logistics and financial support, she embodied the very definition of servant leadership. Her presence alone teaches: commit, ask, lead, serve.

Arriving in Peru

I left Honolulu at 10 PM on April 16 and arrived in Cusco on the morning of April 18—a 29-hour journey. When I stepped off the plane, tears welled up. I felt something extraordinary. Then, stepping outside, I heard chanting: “Bodhi! Bodhi!”

A group of 10 radiant young women from an organization called Peruvian Hearts were there to welcome me—with the most genuine smiles, confetti on my head (a Peruvian sign of blessing), and traditional dancing. I was speechless. Moved. Loved. Honored. Gaby had orchestrated this greeting. And not just for me—for all the speakers.

Then 5D Gaby miraculously appeared out of thin air. She gave me blue roses—my favorite—and water. That moment alone would have fulfilled the entire journey.  I can say with complete honesty: in that moment, I could have gotten back on a plane to Hawaii and that alone would have been La Experiencia Suprema Peru for me. But it was only the beginning.

La Experiencia Suprema: The Ultimate Experience in Peru

Held on April 19–20, La Experiencia Suprema was an all-day, two-day event inspired by The Book of Being entitled The Ultimate Coach. With 27 speakers, live music, cultural dance, and Gaby’s own beautiful family members speaking—it was exquisite.

On April 20, I took the stage. That experience changed the course of my life. It showed me things I could not have seen any other way.

Throughout it all, Gaby never stopped serving. She ensured everyone had what they needed—rides, hotel support, reassurance, and love. Perhaps she is Pachamama herself–the sacred Incan spirit of Mother Earth: abundant, ever-giving, the heartbeat of nature, the womb of all life, and the ancient presence we return to in reverence and reciprocity.

Five of us joined her afterward for a four-day tour of Cusco and Machu Picchu. Her care never wavered. She is world-class.

Thank You, 5D Gaby

Gaby Puma, you are a transcendent servant-leader. You are Transcendence in action. You bring out the Brilliance in all you touch.  Thank you for Being You. I love you with all my heart.
